Okay so I been seeing like whole lot of materialism going on with Hindu religion. I been seeing this white people at the mall or urban outfitters, where I admit I sometimes shop, buy these “Hindu inspired” products. Wearing Tshirts with lord Ganesha on it with their dreadlocks and Ganesha tattoos, and it really makes me think why. Like are they Hindus? Do they actually believe in what they’re wearing ?
As a Hindu, this type of materialism of a religion that I deeply believe in and I really hate seeing people like that using the religious deities I believe in as a fashion statement, or even stores like urban outfitters to make a profit off of if.
Even like Buddhism. People keep associating Buddha with weed culture when in fact there’s a lot of discipline that goes into the religion. Buddhism isn’t so free flowing and doing “what goes with the flow” and whatever these people depicting it to be.
